Hi everyone,
As the holiday season approaches, Salon West is coming together to support two incredible local causes that bring comfort and hope to families in our community — Feeding the Gulf Coast and The Backpack Ministry at The Grove Community Church.
This time of year reminds us that even the smallest acts of kindness can make the biggest difference. Together, we can help ensure that no family goes without a meal and that children have nourishing food to take home over the weekend.
For the past several years, Feeding the Gulf Coast has worked tirelessly to supply food pantries, soup kitchens, and other non-profits with Thanksgiving meals for families facing food insecurity. These meals provide more than nourishment — they provide dignity, love, and a reminder that their community cares.
We’re collecting the following items to help complete their holiday meal boxes:
🧡 Boxed Stuffing — MOST NEEDED
🧀 Boxed Macaroni and Cheese — MOST NEEDED
🍠 Canned Yams (Sweet Potatoes) — MOST NEEDED
🟢 Canned Sweet Peas
🥔 Boxed Mashed Potatoes
🍒 Canned Cranberry Sauce
🌽 Canned Corn
We’re also proud to support The Grove Community Church’s Backpack Ministry, which provides local schoolchildren with food to take home over the weekend — a time when many go without reliable meals. Each backpack is packed with care and filled with simple, nutritious items that make a huge difference in a child’s life.
The items most needed for this ministry include:
🧀 Boxed Macaroni and Cheese
🐔 Canned Tuna or Chicken
🌾 Grits or Oatmeal (4 packs per backpack)
All donations can be dropped off at Salon West during regular business hours. Every can, box, and package you bring helps bring warmth and hope to someone in need this season.
